WEST ORANGE, NJ — Construction continues on the West Orange High School’s new "Bubble,” an athletic center that houses gym equipment, coaches' offices, shower, and athlete locker rooms.

The original Bubble collapsed during the winter of 2018 following a snowstorm, and the school district deemed it necessary to consider razing the old structure and building a new one.

The Bubble structure is nearly complete, with the exception of an HVAC unit that still needs to be installed. The portion of the Bubble containing the locker rooms, coaches' offices and showers is also still under construction, but the district estimates that it will be fully complete for the start of the 2019-2020 school year on Sept. 4.

As the weight room is currently usable, the football team is already in full preparation mode for the fall season and is now weight training on premises. With a new head coach installed, the team’s early training sessions recently paid off when the Mountaineers earned their first-ever "Bergen Shootout" title. Click HERE for the story.
