WEST ORANGE, NJ — Christmas trees that are cleared of plastic wrap and decorations will be collected by the West Orange Department of Public Works from Jan. 6 to Jan. 17, 2020. Residents must place their tree at curbside in front of their homes in order to be picked up.
The township’s regular trash disposal company will pick up any trees left on the curb after Jan. 17. In order to be recycled, trees must be left on the curb without a plastic bag, and all decorations/ornaments must be removed. Residents can also bring trees to the West Orange Environmental Center if they choose to do so.
The township also reminds residents that all municipal offices will be closed on Jan. 1, and regular trash/recycling pickup will take place on the next scheduled pickup day. Recycling can be brought to the West Orange Environmental Center during business hours.
The West Orange Public Library will also be closed, and there will be no commuter jitney service.
