WEST ORANGE, NJ — There were two more confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in West Orange on Wednesday, according to Mayor Robert Parisi, who reported on his Facebook page that there were no additional deaths related to the coronavirus in the township.

The total intake of cases in West Orange was 1,342. Deaths are included in the "total intake" number and remain "active" until a full investigation is complete. The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in West Orange was 169.

There were 11 West Orange residents were hospitalized with the coronavirus, and, of them, four were in intensive care. There were 459 current active coronavirus cases in West Orange. The township reports that there have been 811 recovered and closed cases.

In 13 of the last 14 days, the increase in the amount of new coronavirus cases in West Orange has been less than five.

In New Jersey, an additional 550 coronavirus cases Wednesday brought the total in the state to 165,346, according to the state Department of Health. The number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized as of late Monday was 1,701, 35 fewer than the day before.
