WEST ORANGE, NJ — For the 11th consecutive year, Dr. Robert Rubino of The Rubino OB/GYN Group in West Orange has been named to the annual list "Jersey Choice: Top Doctors," as detailed in the November 2018 issue of "New Jersey Monthly."
According to the magazine's accompanying article, Dr. Rubino is “a nationally recognized expert in minimally invasive procedures" who is "at the forefront of providing access to women’s health care.”
Dr. Rubino is an advocate for women’s health; his practice aims to set the standard for localized and accessible treatment for minimally invasive surgery and 3-D mammograms. Through investments in ongoing professional training and the latest in medical technology, procedures that were once performed only in hospitals are now completed in any of the five The Rubino OB/GYN Group regional locations.
The Rubino Group is the first OB/GYN practice in New Jersey to offer on-site, state-of-the-art, 3-D mammography services within its facility. Since February 2018, the mammography center in Rubino's West Orange office has enabled women to have annual well exams and mammography screenings at the same visit.
Dr. Rubino continues to champion a less-invasive therapeutic approach for medical disorders. He introduced the use of FemiLift, a non-hormonal laser therapy to relieve atrophy, painful intercourse and minor incontinence. According to Rubino, this treatment is especially beneficial for women who cannot take estrogen.
The Rubino OB/GYN Group also utilizes Her Option cryoablation, an office procedure that is an alternative to hysterectomy to stop heavy menstrual bleeding, and MyoSure, a device used to remove certain types of uterine tumors without an incision.
“I am fortunate to work with a team of dedicated and talented physicians who share my commitment to the important goal of advancing women’s health through evidence-based medicine in a respectful and caring patient environment,” said Rubino. “I am grateful for this recognition by my peers and will continue to work to use creativity and innovation to promote well-being among my patients.”
"New Jersey Monthly" began the "Top Docs" selection process in January 2018. More than 24,000 New Jersey-based doctors were offered the chance to participate in a survey, recommending peers they would choose to treat their own families.
Dr. Rubino is a resident of Summit and the president of the Summit Park Line Foundation. He is spearheading the building of the Summit Park Line and the conversion of an abandoned railway to a pedestrian park. He also serves on the board of directors of University Hospital in Newark, the largest public hospital in New Jersey.
