WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange Public Schools district is offering all district parents and the extended community an opportunity to attend "Raising Resilient Teens in Challenging Times," a presentation providing information on the warning signs of suicide, on Oct. 24 at Roosevelt Middle School from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The free program is being held in partnership with The Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide. Parents of students in elementary school, middle school and high school are urged to attend. The presentation will and provide local resources that can help, offer strategies for talking to teens and teach parents how to understand the warning signs of suicide.
The program will also emphasize data and statistics and ways to cultivate an independent and resilient mindset in children.
Roosevelt Middle School is located at 36 Gilbert Place in West Orange.
