WEST ORANGE, NJ — Whole Mother Village, a new business in downtown West Orange that provides pregnancy care options and associated services for expecting parents, officially celebrated its grand opening at 253 Main St. with a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.
West Orange Mayor Robert Parisi and council members Michelle Casalino, Jerry Guarino and Susan McCartney were on hand to help owner Alice Tracy celebrate the milestone.
When she opened Whole Mother Village, Tracy’s vision was to create a space for women to gather, share, support and empower each other while also learning, exploring and gaining lifelong skills and tools.
Whole Mother Village offers all of that and more, including ways for women to connect with resources and services.
Over the summer, when she offered free access to more than 50 classes for local moms, Tracy expressed that motherhood is “an intense, demanding, joyful, sometimes-lonely and always-challenging time” and that mothers typically “long for a friend” and “a community of others who understand what [they] are feeling and going through.”
“My goal is to recreate a traditional village in today's modern word where women are nourished to grow into strong and confident mothers in a supportive community of other women,” she said.
