Another resident fell victim to theft in late February after he purchased Canon RFD 85mm camera lens online. According to the police report, the victim opened the Amazon delivery to discover that the Canon lens box inside was filled with clear plastic bags, indicating that the lens was missing.

Also in February, two individuals were arrested in West Orange on separate incidents of shoplifting.

Cecil Thomas, 28, of Irvington was arrested and charged with shoplifting $179 worth of merchandise from the CVS Pharmacy on Main Street in the Llewellyn Park section of the township, according to police.

During a search for weapons, the responding officer felt a cylinder-shaped object in the suspect's front left pocket that he recognized as a "glass pipe" commonly used to ingest narcotics. The item was removed and confirmed to be a "glass pipe" with possible CDS crack residue on it, police said.

Barsin Sadighi, 62, of Mahwah was also arrested on shoplifting charges after consumable goods and household items valued at $129.52 were found in her possession. According to police, Sadighi was suspected of shoplifting after she walked out of the doors of Whole Foods Market without paying.
