WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange Fire Department early Sunday evening quickly brought under control a blaze on Oakridge Road.

According to township authorities, one engine and one ladder truck were summoned shortly after 6 p.m. after fire was showing from the first floor rear of an unoccupied single-family wood-frame home.

Ladder 1 forced entry through the front door and Engine 3 stretched an attack line. The crews quickly knocked down the fire near the home's back porch and confirmed no extension. There were no reported injuries, either to civilians or emergency personnel.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
