WEST ORANGE, NJ -- A township woman reported a UPS package stolen from outside her residence on the evening of Monday, Dec. 16.
According to a report by the West Orange Police Department, the woman reported that an Amazon delivery of a pair of twisted women's Payton Jean slippers was missing after being delivered to her Watchung Avenue apartment unit.
United Parcel Service informed the woman, she said, that the package was delivered at 6:20 p.m. that evening. The woman was not home at the time of the delivery. She contacted Amazon and was told that the slippers had been delivered. She attempted to contact UPS, but it was after the company's business hours had ended.
The woman told police she believed that someone posed as her and accepted the package based on the code used on the UPS website. No neighbors reported seeing anything unusual, however.
