WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange Police Department has reported several recent cases of criminal mischief to parked motor vehicles and theft from a motor vehicle.
A resident of Arverne Road reported that between the night of May 8 and the morning of May 9, a garage door opener was removed from a 2013 Acura TSX that was parked curbside and left unlocked overnight. Although the inside of the car was ransacked, the garage door opener appeared to be the only item missing.
Several vehicles were vandalized on William Street May 10 and May 11. Three tires on a 2017 Mazda CX5 were reported punctured with an unknown implement, causing less than $600 of damage.
During the same time frame, another William Street resident reported that two vehicles parked in a driveway sustained damage from criminal mischief. A 2012 BMW 650 had two 6-foot scratch marks on its surface, and a 2010 Mercedes Benz C300 had three tires punctured. The total damage to the two vehciles came out to approximately $2,500.
