WEST ORANGE, NJ — In order to receive accreditation status that will last for the next four years, members of the West Orange Police Department (WOPD) recently welcomed a team of assessors from the Commission on the Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) to examine the department’s policies and procedures, management, operations and support services.

As part of the process, agency employees and members of the community recently offered comments at a public information session held at town hall. The time for public input has since closed.

Seen above (L-R) are West Orange Deputy Chief of Police Matthew Feula, Lt. Richard McDonald, Chief of Police James Abbott, CALEA members Christopher Ciuci and James Grimer and Deputy Chief of Police Michael Keigher.
