WEST CALDWELL, NJ -- The West Orange baseball team played a well-pitched, error-free game and defeated Caldwell, 4-1, Thursday afternoon.

Owen Hagstrom allowed a run on five hits in five innings pitched for the victory, and Mark Mincolelli allowed three hits in two shutout innings for the save.

Jason Raines had a triple and an RBI, Melachi Jones singled in a run, Bradley Kessler went 2-for-3 and Sean Brown had a double and scored a run for the Mountaineers (3-10). Nick Bergamotto and Ryan Lill each had two hits for Caldwell (8-7). Will McCann allowed a run in three strong innings of relief for the Chiefs.
