WEST ORANGE, NJ -- The West Orange boys soccer team went to overtime before pulling out a 2-1 victory over Newark East Side on Monday.
The way West Orange (3-4-1) scored its goals exemplifies why head coach Doug Nevins is so optimistic about the future of the program. Sophomore Ari Rosu scored one goal and assisted on the other, which was scored by freshman Mason Bashkoff. Rosu's goal came off an assist by senior center back Yasin Aly.
Nikolai Matthews made eight saves for West Orange in a game where both teams attempted nine shots.
