WEST ORANGE, NJ -- Pope John High School established a seven-point lead after one quarter and went on to a 49-35 girls basketball victory over West Orange Thursday night.

Sophomore guard Kiley Capstraw scored 19 points and came up with six steals for the Mountaineers (10-15), who closed the gap to four by halftime before being outscored by Pope John, 27-17, in the second half.

Shyleea Ryan finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds, Tracey Ilderis contributed eight rebounds and two blocked shots and Natalie Nevins handed out five assists and made five steals for West Orange.
