LIVINGSTON, NJ -- The West Orange girls soccer team advanced with a 1-0 double-overtime victory over Livingston in the quarterfinal round of the Section 1, Group 4 tournament on Friday.

It was the third meeting of the season between the teams. West Orange beat Livingston in the regular season, but the Lancers came back and defeated the Mountaineers in the Essex County Tournament semifinals in October.

After a scoreless regulation and one scoreless overtime period, West Orange (15-3) broke the deadlock when Natalie Nevins scored off an assist by Emma Mitchell.

Winning goalie Cassidy Joyce made eight saves. Gianna Healy of Livingston (14-3-2) made six saves. West Orange, seeded sixth, will play at second-seeded Randolph in the section semifinals on Monday.
