WEST ORANGE, NJ -- Senior Natalie Nevins, a record-breaking midfielder for the West Orange girls soccer team, on Wednesday signed her letter of intent with St. Joseph's University.
Nevins recently concluded a career that saw her finish with 69 goals and 88 assists, both school records. Nevins played for the first West Orange girls soccer team to ever win an Essex County Tournament and a sectional Group 4 championship, both in 2018.
In 20 games played as a senior, Nevins either scored at least one goal or assisted on at least one goal in 18 of those games.
"I think something that makes Natalie a great high school player is her vision," said West Orange girls soccer head coach Sean Devore. "She reads the game very well. She understands when to pass, shoot and make a run."
Nevins, who totaled 27 goals and 23 assists as a senior, is on the staff of The Pioneer, the student news website of West Orange High School. Her father, Doug Nevins, is the head coach of the West Orange boys soccer team.
