Eleven Westfield High School students were selected to the distinguished New Jersey All State Chorus sponsored by the New Jersey Music Educators Association (NJMEA). Having auditioned in April among more than 1,000 students, they will have the opportunity to perform at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark in November 2016 and in February 2017.
They include: top row, l-r, 2016 All-State Mixed Chorus: Alex Cestero, Noah Bram, Max Wasilewski, and Catherine Moore; 2017 All State Treble Chorus: Emma Stern, and Olivia McElheny; and bottom row – 2016 All State Mixed Chorus: Matt Siroty and Joseph Maldonado; 2017 All State Treble Chorus: Nicole Player and Alison Brown; and All State Mixed Chorus: Abby Rothenberg.
"Our Westfield students were chosen from a rigorous audition process and worked extremely hard in preparation just to get into the group,” stated Vocal Music Teacher John Brzozowski. \“These singers are a testament to the talent, hard work, and dedication of the students in the choral department. It is such a source of pride for the choral department that we will have so many of our students performing at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center next year."
