UNION, NJ – Union police arrested a man and four women in connection with a prostitution business at a local spa on Morris Avenue.
In September 2017, Union police made arrests at the Birchwood Oils – Essential Oil Rub Treatments - when they discovered it to be a place of prostitution, police said.
According to police, they continued to monitor the location and discovered that the individuals had returned to business and “nothing had changed.” In response, an undercover Union detective entered the premises on Wednesday, police said. Police said that after the officer was escorted into a private room, the masseuse described the pricing for additional services, which were of a sexual nature. The detective declined the offer and left the spa, police said. Afterwards, detectives and Street Crimes Unit officers entered the premises and detained everyone there.
Police said that the man in charge was identified as Ronald (aka Michael) Stone, 75, from West New York, NJ. He was arrested and charged with promoting prostitution.
According to a Google search, the business still claims a Springfield address.
The woman who solicited the undercover officer was arrested and was identified as Masturakhon Abduvalieva, 41, of Brooklyn, NY. Three other women in the spa were also arrested for a variety of warrants. All of them were processed and released from headquarters, police said.
Stone and Abduvalieva were given court dates. Police are asking anyone with information on any other illegal or questionable business in town to contact the Detective Bureau at 908-851-5030.
