Officers Weiss and Neri arrested Victor Wikauder, age 28, of North Plainfield, NJ, for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of Lawrence Avenue and Minisink Way. Subject was transported to Westfield Police headquarters, processed and released on a summons.

A business in the 100 block of Quimby Street reported receiving a counterfeit $20 bill between April 16, 2016 and April 22, 2016. The matter is currently under investigation by the Westfield Detective Bureau.

Officers Jaramillo and Weiss arrested Maria M. Teixeira, age 62, of Nutley, NJ, for shoplifting from a business in the 600 block of West North Avenue. The suspect stole $729.25 worth of merchandise, which was recovered at the time of the arrest. Mrs. Teixeira was also found in possession of burglary tools. She was issued two complaint summonses with a mandatory superior court date and released.

A resident in the 500 block of Trinity Place reported being a victim of fraud. Victim indicated that unknown actor(s) made unauthorized changes and purchases on his AT&T cellular account. Victim also received a Target credit card in the mail which he never applied for. It was discovered that the victim’s information was used to apply for the credit card and a purchase of $200 was made on the card, which was not authorized by the victim.

Officers Weiss and Shaughnessy arrested Thomas J. Mollica, age 30, of Plainfield, NJ, on the strength of an NCIC no bail warrant out of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office and an ATS warrant out of Bordentown Township Municipal Court in the amount of $175 pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of West Broad Street and Hetfield Avenue in Scotch Plains. Subject was transported to Westfield Police Department headquarters where he was processed and turned over the the custody of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers Forcenito and Martinez arrested John Pagan, age 76, of the 200 block Cacciola Place, Westfield, NJ for driving while intoxicated pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of Central Avenue by Clifton Street. Subject was transported to headquarters where he was processed and released to a sober adult.

Officers O’Holla and McCarthy arrested Nicholas Ballas, age 18, of Willow Street, Cranford, NJ, for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of Benson Place by Lenox Avenue. Subject was transported to headquarters where was processed and released after being issued summonses and a mandatory court date.

Officer Jackus arrested Alberto Castelon, age 48, of Elizabeth, NJ, during a motor vehicle stop at W. Broad and Rahway Avenue. Subject posted bail and was released.

Officers Merritt and Wierzbicki arrested Danny Earp, age 55, of Newark, NJ and Renetta Washington, age 34, of Newark, NJ on active warrants during a motor vehicle stop at South Avenue and Cumberland Street. Ms. Washington was released on recognizance on her warrant for $350 out of Newark. Mr. Earp was TOT Nutley Police Department on an active $500 warrant. He was also released on recognizance by Roxbury ($1500), Montville ($1000) and Newark ($650).

A resident in the 500 block of Cumberland Street recovered and arrow/bolt in his backyard. Said object had an inscription. Item was seized as found property and placed into temporary evidence locker.

A business in the 300 block of East South Avenue reported the theft of $80 worth of merchandise that occurred on May 5, 2016 between the hours of 12:15 p.m. and 12:36 p.m.
May 18, 2016 7:34 a.m.
A resident in the 200 block of Munsee Way reported the theft of their 2011 Infiniti QX56 from their driveway at approximately 5:22 a.m. The vehicle was unlocked and had the key fob in it at the time of the theft. The reported value of the stolen vehicle is $60,000.
