In the wake of the tragic fire at Ferraro’s, destroying a landmark and staple of our community since 1969, we are reminded that we as a community are at our best when times are at their worst. Our hearts go out to the Ferraro family and to the entire community and we look forward to helping them start the next chapter of their story.
As the Area Chamber of Commerce, serving the communities of Fanwood, Garwood, Mountainside, Scotch Plains and Westfield, we have dedicated ourselves to helping all business owners and professionals connect: with each other, with the community at large and with new customers from all over.
Our community needs our help. When a business as large and successful as Ferraro’s closes, even temporarily, it affects all businesses in the community. Traffic flow decreases, patrons who would have dined there and then stroll around and shop elsewhere don’t come, and business decreases for all.
We at the Chamber are geared up for helping businesses grow, network and market. And we look forward to doing so for Ferraro’s when they reopen. In the meantime, we will do everything we can to work with the DWC and Sherry Cronin as they help Ferraro’s with this transition.
I hope to see you all at future events. And if you’re not already involved in our collective success, please join us. The time to participate in our community, in your community, has never been more “now” then ever. Give us a call, send us an email, get involved helping the community.
I wish us all a prosperous future.
