Anastasia Smolenski of Westfield was recently honored for completing an internship this summer in the legislative office of Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean.
“My summer intern team has been a great addition to our legislative office. They have worked diligently on behalf of the residents of District 21 and the state, and are a valuable asset. I would like to congratulate Anastasia Smolenski and thank her and my other interns for their hard work,” Kean said.
Smolenski is a recent graduate of Westfield High School and will be a freshman this fall at Georgetown University. She will be studying in the McDonough School of Business, and intends to pursue a double major in marketing and operations and information management.
In high school she participated in a wide range of activities, from Model United Nations to Photography Club.
“My internship at Senator Kean’s office was a truly incredible experience,” said Smolenski. “I found it very rewarding to see firsthand how the state legislature operates, and appreciate the opportunity to work alongside the Senator and learn from his wonderful staff.”
Senator Kean runs internship programs throughout the year. Students interested in finding out more about upcoming opportunities can contact the office at SenKean@njleg.org.
