ROSELLE/ROSELLE PARK, NJ - A search for a man who tried to lure a 16-year-old boy into his car earlier this week in Roselle Park ended today when police found the car and arrested a Roselle man, said authorities.
The man, Robert Tyson Jr., 22, of East 10th Ave., was arrested today by Roselle Park Detective John Deegan, said police. They described Tyson as an unemployed delivery driver.
They said Deegan received a tip that a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle - a gold or tan Chevrolet Impala - was spotted in a Union County park. The caller said the driver of the vehicle matched the description of the suspect, police said.
While en route to that location, detectives passed a vehicle they believed was the car seen in the park, said police. They said the car was pulled over on Locust Street in Roselle and officers confirmed it was the vehicle being sought.
An investigation revealed the car’s driver, Tyson, was the suspect from the April 26 incident, said police, who said Tyson was placed under arrest. Police did not reveal the exact charges, but said a court appearance is scheduled in Roselle Park Municipal Court on May 12.
