Auction Items Sought for Westfield Area YMCA 13th Annual Golf Classic & Live Auction

WCBS TV weathercaster John Elliott gets the crowd bidding at the event.

The Westfield Area YMCA will host its 13th Annual Golf Classic and Dinner with Live Auction on Monday, June 19, at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield.  All proceeds benefit the Annual Support Campaign for strong kids, families and seniors, ensuring that no one who lives or works in Westfield, Cranford, Garwood or Mountainside and is suffering a bona fide financial hardship is turned away for inability to pay.  In 2016, the Y provided $410,103 in direct financial assistance to 276 individuals, primarily for child care and summer camp services.

If you have a vacation home or time share, access to a fine dining establishment, sporting event, airline or concert tickets, please consider donating them as an auction item.  You will have the satisfaction of knowing that the proceeds of your gift helped a child in need attend camp this summer, or child care this fall.

Play golf?  Echo Lake Country Club recently completed a substantial renovation.  Golfers in the Y Classic will be among the first to experience the beautiful and challenging play of this renovated course. Echo Lake hired the renowned golf architect Rees Jones, known as the “U.S. Open Doctor” to develop and execute a Golf Course Master Plan which has been underway over the last few years.  Play format is a shamble.  Prizes will be awarded for both team performance and individual games of skill by both men and women.  Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and shotgun start is at 1 p.m.

A wide variety of sponsorship levels are available.  Sponsorships are tax-deductible.  All sponsors will be prominently listed in promotional materials, event signage, the ad journal and the Y’s Annual Report.  Sponsors of $2,500 or more will be included on a large banner displayed all year in the Y gymnasium, will have the opportunity to display their corporate banner at the event, and are welcome to attend the cocktail hour/dinner at no additional fee.
