CRANFORD, NJ — The Cougars topped the Blue Devils Wednesday in the quarterfinal round of the Union County tournament, 4-2.

The game was tied 1 to 1 in the second inning when Westfield pulled ahead in the third with a 2 – 1 lead. But in the fourth inning Cranford scored three more runs. That was all they needed to win 4-2.

Westfield’s two runs were a result of an RBI from Matt Catanzaro and an RBI from Mike Friel. The runs from those RBIs were scored by Dan DoCampo and Mike Friel who combined for four of Westfield’s seven hits.
