WESTFIELD, NJ — Part of Central Avenue in Clark and Westfield will closed overnight for approximately the next six evenings to allow for construction, weather permitting, the county of Union announced on its website Friday.
Paving of Central Avenue from Raritan Road in Clark to Clifton Street in Westfield began Friday at about 9 p.m., the county said.
The work being performed will consist of various road improvements, such as milling, paving and striping of the road, according to the county. Drivers should expect Central Avenue to be closed from about 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning.
Emergency vehicles will be allowed through at all times, the county said, and access to residences, including deliveries and other services, in the work zone will be allowed as much as possible.
