CLARK, NJ – This time it was the west side of town: Thomas Drive, Wheatsheaf Road and Grove Street. Fourteen unlocked cars were burglarized sometime between 4:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., Clark Chief of Police Pedro Matos confirmed.

“Everyone in town needs to be careful,” Matos said. “We weren’t the only town, either.  It happened in other towns around us.” He suspects a group of out-of-towners are responsible for these incidents.

The Clark Police Department will conduct increased patrols, Matos said, in a pre-emptive effort to stop further crimes.

He cautioned that warmer weather always brings an increase in car break-ins and reminded residents to always lock their cars.
