Representatives from Westfield’s religious communities will host a Community Service of Remembrance, Hope and Change on Monday, July 11, at 7 p.m. This would mark the one month anniversary of the Orlando shootings. The gathering will take place on the lawn of the First United Methodist Church located at 1 East Broad St., Westfield. Parking is available in the church parking lot off Ferris Place behind the church.
The service will include the reading of names of the 49 people killed in Orlando. A rose will represent each victim. Music and prayers will also be part of this simple and peaceful service as we unite under the banner of God’s love that calls for mutual respect and shalom for all.
Participants will include clergy and members of the wider community.
