Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains held a Progressive Dinner for its members, Saturday evening, March 3.  Sponsored jointly by the synagogue’s Sisterhood and Member Relations Committee, the event brought together people in both large and intimate settings, so that congregants could get to know one another better.  Congregants gathered at the synagogue for hors d’oeuvres and wine, split into smaller groups to eat dinner at one of five randomly assigned homes, and then reunited for dessert at the home of hosts Ilyse and Len Garber.  Pictured greeting congregants in Congregation Beth Israel’s social hall are (from left): Ruth Margolin, Sisterhood President; Arlene Wiener and Rita Geller, Progressive Dinner co-chairs; and Ilyse Garber, dessert host.
