Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains will hold its second annual Goods and Services Auction on Saturday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the synagogue. The event, which is open to the community, will feature both live and silent auctions as well as raffles. Dairy desserts will be served, plus cordials, wine and beer. About 150 auction items will be available, including: tickets to television shows such as David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Regis & Kelly; tickets to sporting events for the U.S. Open, NY Mets and NY Yankees; gift certificates to New Jersey and New York restaurants; museum admissions; and autographed memorabilia.
“People left last year’s auction with some really terrific prizes. It was so much fun that we couldn’t wait to hold another auction again this year,” said Michael Weinstock, committee chair.
Seating is limited to 200 people. To register for the event or for more information, contact the synagogue office at (908) 889-1830. Tickets cost $25 per person if paid by March 1 (includes 5 free raffle tickets), and $30 at the door. Congregation Beth Israel is located at 18 Shalom Way (corner of Martine Ave.), Scotch Plains, New Jersey.
