High students throughout the New Jersey 7th Congressional District have the opportunity to attend Congressman Leonard Lance’s annual Service Academy Information Fair. Lance’s annual event draws dozens of interested high school students considering attending one of the service academies following high school graduation.

“The academy fair allows students and parents to talk directly with service academy admissions representatives to have their questions answered and gain an understanding of the competitive application process,” Lance said. ‘I hope all interested high school students will attend.”

The annual event allows students to meet with academy officials to learn more about the admissions process and how to pursue their interests in serving the Nation.

Representatives from the U.S. Military Academy, the United States Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy, the Merchant Marine Academy and the Coast Guard Academy are expected to participate. Additionally, representatives from Lance’s congressional staff will be available to answer questions from students about the nominating process.

Congressman Lance enlists the assistance of former and retired military officers residing within the district. These men and women representing all the service branches form three member panels and interview each prospective candidate each November.

“I’ve had the honor to serve as a panel member on Congressman Leonard Lance's Academy Review Panel for the past four consecutive years.” Major (Retired) Marc A. Krauss said. “These are some of the finest young men and women I’ve had the privilege to meet.”

In 2016, of the 31 nominees from the 7th Congressional District, 15 have received appointments to service academies; 3 to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, 4 to the U.S. Military Academy, 6 to the U.S. Naval Academy, and 2 to the U.S. U.S. Air Force Academy

“It is an honor every year to meet the young people who step forward to be considered for appointment to one of our Nation’s service academies,” said Lance concluded. “I consider it a great responsibility to nominate talented students to serve our country,”

The fair will be held on Saturday, June 17 in Raritan Valley Community College Conference Center, 118 Lamington Road, Branchburg, NJ, starting 10 a.m. and concluding at noon.

Those interested should RSVP at Service Academy Information Fair. Lance’s service academy fair is free and open to all Seventh District high school students. Students with questions should contact John Malone by email at john.malone@mail.house.gov for more information.

And in the beginning, G‑d was homeless, and so G‑d asked His people to set Him up with some digs. Where does it say that? Well, nowhere, actually. But it does say that G‑d instructed Moses to tell the people, “They shall make for Me a Sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.”

Now the question is, was G‑d really homeless? ...
