David Contract (Westfield Ward 3 Town Council Candidate) held his campaign kick-off open house on Sunday April 23.

Nearly 100 voters had the opportunity to share what’s on their mind and hear Contract speak about his vision for Westfield and Council.

“I plan to bring fresh ideas and a proactive approach to Westfield,” Contract told the assembled crowd. “I want the town to work for everyone and for issues to be solved more quickly.” Contract shared with the attendees that his desire for positive change began with his push for a smoking ban in Downtown Westfield. And his persistent efforts yielded results, with the council enacting a ban on smoking at outdoor café’s beginning 2017.

In addition to hearing Contract speak, voters were introduced to Shelley Brindle, the mayoral candidate, and Lacey Rzeszowski, who is running for State Assembly for NJ’s 21st District.

Attendees also enjoyed the sweet treats of Westfield, including desserts from Brummer’s, Carlo's Bakery, Bovella's Pastry Shoppe, Trader Joe's and home bakers Sugar Mama's and Beets and Biscotti. Kids in attendance (and some parents too) were delighted by the appearance of Mohammed’s Ice Cream (Ward 3’s famous ice cream truck).
