The JCC of Central New Jersey invites you to an evening with Guitarist Steve Katz, founding member of The Blues Project and Blood, Sweat & Tears and author of Blood, Sweat and My Rock ‘n Roll Years. This event will be at Congregation Beth Israel on Saturday, Dec. 12.
Steve will perform and share his experiences as a musician during a seminal time in rock ‘n roll history. Katz has had a long career in the music business beginning in the 1950s. Along with his time with Blood, Sweat & Tears, Katz produced albums for Lou Reed, spent time as a record executive in the 1970s and now has authored his autobiography.
“I love love love Steve Katz’s new book Blood, Sweat and My Rock ’n’ Roll Years—a dizzying, delicious, head-spinning, heart-wrenching tale of the Sixties…stories of the great band he was part of, a band that tore up the charts while the music rolled up the avenues of the world,” says Judy Collins, singer and writer. “Great book, great read, great life”
Steve goes on at 8:15 p.m. There is a VIP reception with Steve beginning at 7:00 p.m. and general admission begins at 7:30 p.m. His book will be on sale at the event for $25. Visit www.jccnj.org for ticket price and purchase and information on how to become a VIP. Advance sale tickets are discounted.
