NEW JERSEY — Gov. Phil Murphy announced soaring state's COVID-19 figures for Dec. 1 via Twitter. The governor reported 90 new deaths, the highest recorded figure since June. This new deaths bring the total loss of life in the state to 15,254 individuals.
Overall, Murphy reported 4.661 new positive cases, bringing the statewide cumulative total to 341,910. Currently, there are 3,129 COVID patients in New Jersey hospitals, of which 601 are in critical or intensive care. There are 359 ventilators in use.
Rate of Transmission (Rt) is 1.1. Some good news: 225 patients were discharged.
“We need all hands on deck to beat back the second wave,” the governor tweeted. “Mask up. Social distance. Wash your hands. Be smart.”
