WESTFIELD, NJ — Downtown Westfield will take on a party-like atmosphere Thursday, Oct. 16, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., when restaurants and shops take part in Girls’ Night Out in Westfield. Crowds of women are expected to arrive that evening to enjoy sales, specials, refreshments and entertainment with their friends. The first ladies to register at www.westfieldtoday.com/girlsnightout will receive a complimentary gift.
Following the overwhelming response and success of previous semi-annual Girls’ Night Out events since 2011, the Downtown Westfield Corporation anticipates that more than 2,400 women will register and that even more will attend.
As of last week, about 1,700 women had already signed up, according to DWC Executive Director Sherry Cronin.
“Thanks to the graciousness of the property owner, registered guests will be invited to start their night at the former Coldwater Creek location at 126 Central Avenue. The Gold Magnolias and Michael Doyle will be providing musical entertainment on Central and Elm Street,” she said.
This event will be held rain or shine.
Complimentary gifts sponsored by Downtown Westfield Corporation in partnership with City Sports. The bag sponsor is Barnabas Health Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
As part of Girls’ Night Out, the DWC is also sponsoring a photo contest on Instagram. Ladies are encouraged to take pictures or videos of themselves and their friends enjoying the evening of shopping and post them to Instagram, #girlsnightoutwestfieldfall2014. The top four photos or videos with the most likes will win a $50 gift certificate to the participating retailer of their choice.
Individuals can submit as many photos or videos as they like, but there will be only one win per entrant. Entrants should turn off their “posts are private” settings in their profiles so that everyone can see the images. Photos must be submitted by Oct. 17.
