WESTFIELD, NJ — Girls’ Night Out in Downtown Westfield, a popular yearly event supporting downtown businesses, went virtual Thursday, becoming “Girls’ Night In” to meet the challenges of social distancing.

Along with special promotions from shops and restaurants, there was a livestreamed video “pre-party” Thursday afternoon that spotlighted some of the local businesses that make the downtown special.

With interactive segments such as sangria-making with Addams Tavern, home décor ideas with the Farmhouse Store, a sing-along with Valencia Music School and makeup tips from Blende Beauty, there was something for everyone.

“Downtown Westfield’s Girls’ Night In Pre-Party was a great show of community with a strong positive spirit. Our residents went online to support many of our small businesses,” said Bob Zuckerman, executive director of the Downtown Westfield Corp., which sponsored the event.

“The DWC continues to look for new and innovative ways for our businesses to engage the public to help sustain them during the COVID crisis,” Zuckerman said. “We look forward to having more events like this in the immediate future to help our merchants and engage the community in a fun and unique way.”
