WESTFIELD, NJ — Downtown Westfield's first-ever “Dog Days of Summer” event, originally scheduled for from Sunday, Aug. 12, has been postponed due to the likelihood of bad weather, the Downtown Westfield Corporation announced Saturday.

“It should be rescheduled for next Sunday, August 19. Stay tuned for confirmation and details,” the DWC wrote.

Dog Days of Summer is the third event in the Downtown Westfield Corporation’s new “Second Sundays” series, which features a different themed event on the second Sunday of each month. (Previous events were Yoga on Quimby and Christmas in July.)

Tthe event will feature a pet parade, pet portraits, animal adoptions, toys and more. There will be pools in which the animals can cool off and Quimby Street will be closed for the event. Leashes will be required.
