WESTFIELD, NJ — This Saturday, June 6, the Education Fund of Westfield will host “The Amazing Race” for families with children from kindergarten through fifth grade at Kehler Stadium.
The adventure includes 13 challenges, such as catching water balloons in a colander and one “cereal”ously puzzling challenge. Be prepared to get a little bit dirty and wet, the Ed Fund warns.
"Have you ever searched for buried treasure? Can you throw a ball through a tarp? Come to the Amazing Race and join in the great adventure. It will be ‘cereal-ously’ incredible," said Claudia Andreski, co-president of the Ed Fund. “All are welcome. You do not have to live in Westfield.”
Families can choose from two one-hour races — one at 9 a.m. and the second at 11:30 a.m. The entrance fee is $25 per family, payable by cash or with a check made out to the Education Fund of Westfield. Each participant who registers will receive an "I'm Amazing” T-shirt from the Ed fund.
Over the past 25 years, the Ed Fund has listened to the needs of classroom teachers and has supported them with over $350,000 in grants. To show their appreciation, physical education teachers Ken Miller and Barbara Piatkowski will be at “The Amazing Race” to cheer everyone on.
