CRANFORD, NJ — An 80-year-old Westfield man was seriously injured Thursday morning when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street near Lenape Park, according to police.
The incident occured at about 9:51 a.m. According to police, a 21-year-old woman from Kenilworth was driving Westbound on the Kenilworth Boulevard when her vehicle struck the man, who was in the crosswalk adjacent to the Lenape Park entrance.
The victim was treated at the scene by Cranford Fire EMS and paramedics from Rahway Hospital, then transported to University Hospital in Newark with serious but not life-threatening injuries, police said.
According to the Cranford Police Department the incident is under investigation by the Cranford Police Traffic Bureau.
