EVENTS ANNOUNCED TO SUPPORT THE Y 5K RUN FOR EVERYONE
The 5K Run for Everyone to support special needs programs at the Westfield Area YMCA will be held on Sunday, September 18th. The Y is pleased to announce many activities leading up to the big run! There will be daily prize drawings for registered participants and volunteers beginning Friday, Sept. 9, through Thursday, Sept. 15. Gift cards from local restaurants and businesses will be awarded.
You do not have to be a runner to help support this cause! Additional 5K Run for Everyone Events are as follows:
Bohemian Raspberry located at 219 South Avenue in Westfield will donate 10% of full-priced purchases directly to this cause for those who mention the 5K Run for Everyone from Friday, Sept. 9-Monday, Sept. 19.
Lord & Taylor in Westfield is supporting the cause and hosting a Shopping Event on Saturday September 17 from 5 p.m.-8 p.m.. Shop and purchase in the Westfield store and they will donate 5% of sales to benefit the Y! Take a seat at 6:45 p.m. to enjoy a special Back-to-School Fashion Show at 7 p.m. featuring “celebrity” models including Y Staff, Dragonfly program participants and Flyers athletes and parents.
A FREE Family Fun Event will follow the 5K Run for Everyone from Noon-1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18. Families are welcome to enjoy family swim in the pool, listen to live music by RMC Studios and have fun in the inflatable obstacle course, bounce house and sports games in the gym at the Main Y Facility, 220 Clark Street in Westfield.
