Westfield High School graduating seniors Danielle Fields and Matthew Ritter were congratulated by Westfield Superintendent of Schools, Margaret Dolan, at the twenty-sixth Annual Recognition Breakfast for Outstanding Scholars on June 2.
Hosted by the district superintendents of schools in Union County, the event recognizes the two seniors from each high school who have earned the highest grade point average. Danielle Fields, with the highest grade point average of all Westfield graduating seniors, also is a National Merit Scholarship winner and recipient of the French Excellence Award at Westfield High School’s Awards Night held May 26.
Matthew Ritter, with the second highest grade point average, received additional recognition for having achieved Commended Scholar status in the National Merit Scholarship Award competition.
“With close to 450 seniors graduating Westfield High School this year, it is a remarkable achievement to be at the top of such a large and accomplished group of students,” stated Dr. Dolan. “I am honored to personally congratulate Danielle and Matthew and to wish them continued success on their life’s journey,” she added.
