The youth at First Baptist Church of Westfield (FBCW) continued their spirit of giving back to the community by helping to restore an orphanage in Oklahoma damaged by floods. It was a week of rebuilding, restoring and renewing at Murrow Indian Children’s Home and Bacone College.
They recognized that not everyone gets to enjoy the joys of summer like swimming in a pool, taking a family vacation or simply relaxing during the lazy hazy days of summer with no worries, so they wanted to be a part of the solution by sharing their time and hands to help others.
This summer, three youth along with three chaperones from FBCW worked side by side with other American Baptists from around the country to restore the flood affected area. The FBCW Youth Group did not let the hot weather deter their efforts in assisting in the rebuild of homes, communities and lives.
