First Congregational Church of Westfield invites all to celebrate the holiday season on Sunday, Dec. 8.

Starting at the 10 a.m. worship service, the Festival Chorus will present John Rutter's magnificent “Magnificat!”

The passage from St. Luke known as the Magnificat is a poetic outpouring of praise, joy, and trust in God exclaimed by Mary when she learns that she is to give birth to Christ. There are many musical settings of this text, and Rutter’s is one of the most joyous of them all. Rutter’s music is full of warmth, beauty, and excitement.

Later in the afternoon, FCC will continue the celebration with its Annual Advent Festival!
