WESTFIELD, NJ — There will be plenty of spooky, silly fun for families Westfield this weekend:
1. Trick or treat downtown: Children can enjoy Downtown Westfield’s annual trick-or treat at participating retail shops and restaurants on Sunday, Oct. 29 from noon to 2 p.m.
2. March in a parade: Once your candy bucket is full, head to Quimby street to line up for the Optimist Club of Westfield’s Halloween Parade Sunday starting at 2:15 p.m.
3. Enter a costume contest: Sponsored by Downtown Westfield Corporation, the contest will be held during the Downtown Westfield parade Sunday for children from pre-school through elementary school ages. Prizes will be awarded at 3 p.m.
4. Enjoy some old-fashioned fun: The Miller-Cory House Museum is hosting its annual Hallowen Hocus Pocus Sunday from 1:30 pm. to 4 p.m. Families with children ages 3 through elementary school are invited to come in costume and enjoy cupcake decorating, a scavenger hunt, crafts, storytelling, face painting and temporary tattoos. Cost is $5 per child; accompanying adults free. Festive refreshments will be served. Call 908-232-1776 to make your reservation by noon on Saturday.
