Westfield, NJ — Gallery U Boutique, located at the circle in the Root building at 439 South Avenue West in Westfield, NJ, is proud to welcome 11 local artists to our main gallery in an exchibit called “Tradition.” The exhibit will be open from Thursday, December 8 until January 13. A public artists’ reception for this and our Art in the Boutique show, highlighting the work of Linnea W. Rhodes, is scheduled for Thursday December 8, from 6-8 PM. All are welcome.
Artists were asked to submit work that represents their favorite holiday or family tradition or the traditions of others that have moved them to create. This body of work tells a collective story of family, friendship, light and joy… all the makings of “Tradition.” The works of 11 local artists were selected for this show and include, Virginia Carroll, Avi Kiriakatis, Harriet Kushins, Charlann Meluso, Nancy Ori, Gina Petrecca, Lynn Ronan, Shalini Prasadd, Linnea W. Rhodes, Leona Seufert and Anthony Zachares.
Since their opening in September 2013, Gallery U has quickly positioned itself as an arts resource for the Westfield and surrounding communities by holding monthly art exhibits that focus on the talents of local artists, as well as showcasing original unique merchandise created by local artisans.
Gallery U Boutique is a combination of an art gallery along with a shopping boutique and exists as an extension of Universal Institute, Inc., a rehabilitation facility that services adults with traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Clients of Universal Institute who work at Gallery U Boutique take part in running all aspects of the business. Gallery U Boutique carries a beautiful blend of unique, hand selected wares from designer collections as well as curated art and goods by local artists and artisans.
