NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — Glenside Road in the area of Mountain Avenue was closed Wednesday morning as PSE&G makes repairs to a gas main.
Berkeley Heights Deputy Fire Chief Jim Hopkins said both the New Providence and Berkeley Heights Fire departments “responded in that area numerous times over the past week and a half.”
The New Providence Police Department issued the following statement Wednesday morning:
“On January 9, 2018, at approximately 3 p.m., New Providence and Berkeley Heights Fire Departments responded to the area of Glenside Road and Mountain for a smell of natural gas. PSE&G responded and repaired the gas main in that area.
“On January 10, 2018, New Providence and Berkeley Heights Fire Departments responded back to the same area for a smell of natural gas. Glenside Road is currently closed and PSE&G is on scene making repairs for a separate issue, a valve repair.”
