WESTFIELD, NJ--Crews from Elizabethtown Gas repaired a 1 1/4-inch service line at 127 Washington Street after a contractor who was probing for underground tanks accidentally cut the gas line Tuesday morning. Duane Bourne, a spokesperson for the company, told TAP that the scene is now safe and there have been no service interuptions.
Elizabethtown Gas received a call at about 11:50 AM that a third party had struck a gas line on the 100 block of Washington Street at the intersection of Baltimore. According to Bourne, crews arrived within 15 minutes of that call.
