Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Westfield has taken a leadership role during this COVID-19 crisis to supply hundreds of needed items to area hospitals, according to Lori Arena, RN, Holy Trinity Parish Nurse. These items include dozens of patient care packages, antiseptic bottles, prayer cards, holy water, comfort masks for outpatient cancer patients undergoing treatment, hair ties, hand sanitizer, and other items requested by the nursing staffs at Trinitas and other area hospitals.

With support from the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary Club and members of the Holy Trinity parish, Ms. Arena continues to reach out into the community to obtain donations of needed items and deliver them to hospitals. This is an ongoing mission as requests arrive from the hospital nursing staffs.

“I’d like to particularly thank Carmela Resnick, Past President, Assistant Governor and current member of the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary Club,” Ms. Arena commented, “for coordinating with her members to obtain donations of many items the nurses are requesting to give comfort and support to their patients. Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary Club members and Holy Trinity Parish members have responded eagerly and quickly to fulfill every request as the nurses send them to me.”
