A celebrity endorsement is nice – perhaps even ideal for an emerging company.  But what’s better?  A slice of satisfaction from countless everyday customers.  HomeMade Pizza Company, started in Chicago, opens its doors for the first time in Union County, N.J. with promises of a new way to think about pizza – and dinner.  If past openings are any indication, Westfield residents can expect lines around the corner.
The opening celebrations – complete with kids’ activities, fresh produce giveaways and free pizza – take place from 4-7 p.m., March 15-16 and 2-7 p.m., March 17 at 108 Quimby Street in Westfield, N.J.
HomeMade Pizza Company began with Eric Fosse, the co-founder and CEO of HomeMade Pizza.  His passionate dream was to create a new kind of wholesome pizza and an easy way to bring friends and family together around the dinner table.  Fosse spent more than two years perfecting the crust in his home kitchen, as well as time abroad studying the fresh eating way of life born out of local European markets.
“I’ve always been a big fan of pizza.  I can load it up with my favorite toppings and it’s an easy dinner option for my family.  As much as we love pizza, delivery never measured up to slice of pizza, fresh and hot, from the local pizzeria,” said Fosse.  “I felt there had to be a better way - a way to have hot, fresh, all natural, made-from-scratch pizza at home, where you most wanted to enjoy it.”
Flash forward 13 years and HomeMade Pizza Company is now iconic in Chicago, Washington, DC (and most recently New York/New Jersey) with fans including everyone from five-star chefs to busy families.  Even Oprah featured the unique pies as part of her “Best Pizza in America” special and it is a favorite of people like Brooke Shields and Celebrity Chef Rick Bayless.

“I’m looking forward to the addition of HomeMade Pizza Company to our neighborhood.  I’ve heard great things about its fresh, all-natural dinner options, including take-and-bake pizzas, family-sized cookies and salads,” said Sherry Cronin, a Westfield resident for the last 16 years and executive director of the Downtown Westfield Corporation for 10 years. “And at the end of a long day, every minute counts.  I think our community will welcome HomeMade Pizza with open arms and I’ll definitely be one of the first in the area to test out the pizza at the opening celebrations.”
