WESTFIELD, NJ — (Updated at 10:20 a.m. Aug. 6) Thieves made off with two automobiles in the aftermath of a tropical storm early Wednesday morning, according to police.

The thieves stole one vehicle on Dudley Court and another on Orenda Circle, police said.  Sgt. Michael Walsh said both vehicles were unlocked.

The vehicle thefts occurred as authorities worked to clean up downed trees and wires throughout the town following Tropical Storm Isaias, which left thousands in Westfield without power.
