The public is invited to attend an organizational meeting for a new Kiwanis Club in Westfield on Monday, Nov. 30, at the Westfield YMCA’s Learning Center at 170 Elm Street.

New Jersey Kiwanis District Governor Gordon Meth explained the purpose of the clubs in the state, nation and the world: “Kiwanis International is a global organization of members dedicated to serving the children of the world. Kiwanis and its family of clubs — nearly 600,000 members strong — annually raise more than $100 million and dedicate more than 18 million volunteer hours to strengthen communities and serve children. We are, indeed, changing the world, one community and one student at a time.”

The launching of this club is not only to help support the local Key Club at the Westfield High School, but to allow business owners and residents the opportunity to model leadership and charity involvement.

Anyone from the Westfield community area interested in finding out more about this organization should  attend the November 30 meeting from 6 – 7 p.m. For more information phone or text Kiwanis Club Counselor Susan Dougherty at 732-382-5367.
